Sekka Hinoki Cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Sekka') is a distinct and rare cultivar of Japanese cypress, celebrated for its incredibly dense, tightly curled, fan-shaped emerald foliage. The leaves are so closely packed and intricately folded that they form a unique, cloud-like texture. Due to its exceptionally slow growth and miniature proportions, the entire tree looks like a living scale model, expressing a surreal geometric beauty that feels both organic and meticulously crafted.
This variety grows steadily and adapts well to Hong Kong’s hot and humid subtropical climate. It thrives outdoors on balconies, terraces, or rooftops with ample sunlight and good air circulation, and can also be displayed indoors near bright windows. Routine care is straightforward: maintain consistent soil moisture, avoid waterlogging, and ensure good ventilation to preserve its compact, cloud-like foliage.

Shipping
Bonsai plants are generally shipped within 1–5 days after order confirmation. For some orders, fastest delivery can be same‑day or next‑day, depending on order processing and delivery location.
Orders over HKD $1,500 qualify for free local delivery.
For other orders, delivery fees are as follows:
- Kowloon: HKD $150
- Hong Kong Island and New Territories: HKD $200
- Outlying islands and remote areas: Please contact us after placing your order, and we will provide a custom delivery quote.
If you have special delivery requirements (timing, access, or carrying assistance), please DM us on Instagram @bonso.co in advance.
Return policy
- All bonsai plants are living, naturally evolving works of art, so their appearance may vary slightly from photos due to growth, pruning, and seasonal changes. For this reason, we do not accept returns or refunds based on minor differences in shape or form.
- Pots may show natural texture, glaze variation, or light marks from use—these are normal characteristics, not defects.
- We carefully check each plant’s condition before shipping and pack it securely to reduce the risk of damage in transit. Delivery is arranged and managed by us. If your plant or pot arrives significantly damaged due to shipping, please contact us with photos and we will review your case and, where appropriate, offer a return or refund.
